All clear after reports of gunfire near Stone High School

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-Students and staff at Stone High School were under lockdown for part of the afternoon after shots were fired near campus Thursday.

According to school district officials, the school immediately went into shelter in place mode, as Stone County Sheriff’s deputies and Wiggins Police responded to the campus to investigate.

Authorities were able to determine the shots were not directed at the campus and all students and staff were secure throughout the lockdown.
