Alabama van crash blocks southbound lane in Baldwin County

Alabama troopers are investigating a single vehicle crash today involving a 16 passenger van on Interstate 65 southbound at the 40 mile marker in Baldwin County.
The van has Mexico plates and was carrying 16 passengers, all of Mexican descent. All of the van occupants’ papers are in order.
The van blew a tire. Deputies were not far behind and witnessed the accident. Three were airlifted, four taken by ambulance to North Baldwin Medical Center.
The rest are being driven to the hospital by sheriffs, but are not in police custody.
