Ajax Seafood Hosts Doucet Fundraiser
It seems like the entire Coast is in John Harrison Doucet’s corner as he continues to recover from injuries sustained when a sailboat that he was towing came into contact with power lines back in September.
Now, Ajax Seafood has reached out to Doucet’s family to become a part of the ongoing effort to help with John’s recovery by holding a silent auction and offering seafood specials with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to a recovery fund.
Many of Doucet’s family members were in attendance at the benefit. They gave News 25 an update on John’s condition. Myles Holcomb, John’s uncle, said, “He’s undergoing numerous surgeries to do with his skin. He has good days and bad days. His temperature spikes up and down. He is still in a critical state, but coming from some of the doctors he is doing a little better.”
Kellie Peleaz with Ajax Seafood said, “He’s a good kid and no one wants to see anyone go through that. We love you and we’re coming together for you and we’re here for you when you come back because he is coming back.”
Doucet is undergoing treatment at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia.
