Airport travel during the holiday season

Everyone is eager to get to their loved ones right now, but flight delays and cancelations are wreaking havoc on travel plans.

According to AAA, it is estimated around 112.7 million people will journey 50 miles or more away from home today through January 2nd.  That’s an increase of 3.6 million people over the last year and closing in on pre-pandemic numbers.

Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport has had a steady flow of traffic today, but so far not had any issues with canceled flights due to weather on our end. Traveler Neicill McNair said, “I had missed my flight and I’m going to see if they can double back and get me back in action so I can get back home.”

TSA says remember to have all of your information out and ready, always follow the 3-1-1 rule, and make sure to have all your electronics charged with your apps downloaded in case of any changes.
