Ahead of the Super Bowl, The Driving Scotsman is picking up fans heading to the big game

With a minivan, a Scottish tammie hat, and an accent to match, there’s one man here on the coast who has got your back with a ride.

Over the past 6 years, Eugene Connolly, or the Driving Scotsman, has been offering his driving skills to South Mississippi through his own car service business, taking you to the airport, concerts, the doctor’s office, and now the Super Bowl. With it being just over a week away in New Orleans, he’s got no problem driving up the road to the Big Easy and picking up anyone heading to the big game and all its festivities.

“I’m selling my seats, per seat to fill up a 6 seater mini van and get over to New Orleans for the Super Bowl in the afternoon so my customers can enjoy the festivities. There’s a lot of festivities going on the whole week actually. The NFL puts on along different things. They do have a parade in the French quarter, which is going to be the day before so a lot of people going to that as well. I have a charter for that on Saturday,” says Eugene.

And those charter seats filling up quick, with already only a couple seats left for a ride with the Scotsman.

I have a few spots left, I’m considering doing a second run to do maybe an early morning run so people who maybe want to get there early and maybe go to a hotel. I’ve got six seats and I got four already booked, so guys if you want to book me you better call me quick.”

The Super Bowl means business is booming for Eugene, but his top priority is still making sure fans make it there safely, no matter who you’re cheering for.

“I’m excited to provide the services because I feel like I’m serving the community. I’m doing stuff that helps people get somewhere safely and provide them services in a professional manner.”

And who’s this Scotsman rooting for in the big game you ask? Well he’s playing it safe.

“Definitely going to be excited for these Super Bowl fans. I don’t know which ones to support because I don’t want to upset anybody. I’m just a Saints fan I’m going to stay neutral. I’m pumped, I’m excited for the Super Bowl and it’s going to be a fun week.”
