Accidents during Fourth of July

Three people died in wrecks on Mississippi highways during the July 4th holiday period.
Mississippi Highway Patrol says that on Sunday night, 56-year-old Wilbert Demus of Bentonia was driving south of Mississippi 433 when his car left the road and hit a utility pole. Demus died at the scene.
On Monday morning, 53-year-old Michael Watson of Amory was traveling west on Mississippi 8 when his pickup truck left the road and hit a tree. Watson died at the scene.
Tuesday evening, 33-year-old William Few of Grenada died when his car left Interstate 55 southbound, crossed into the median, and rolled over multiple times. Few died at the scene.
State troopers say 48 people were injured on highways from Friday evening through Tuesday.
