Acadian Ambulance Representatives Speak Out
Representatives of Acadian Ambulance Service spoke at the Jackson County Board of Supervisors meeting this morning, clarifying information about the company.
This comes after county officials began considering a request for proposal with the emergency service after a 15 year partnership.
Many mayors within Jackson County expressed their satisfaction with Acadian, but Gautier Mayor Gordon Gollott spoke out against them. Mayor Gollot is requesting response times and other data from Acadian. Acadian representatives say this could jeopardize the privacy of their company. Bennie French with Acadian Ambulance Service said, “We provided the computerated dispatch, you know, printed data. Because of names, dates and times on there, we feel strongly that we are putting not only those quality assurance panel members within the city, within the county, in jeopardy and we’re not going to do that, we’re not going to do that.”
Acadian Ambulance Services contract with Jackson County expires in November. Representatives say the next step lies in the supervisors’ hands.
