Abundant Life Evangelistic Church holds Community Wellness Day

A Biloxi church is inspiring its community to get more active.

The Abundant Life Evangelistic Church reached a new milestone Saturday featuring the inauguration of its new faith track.

The ceremony took place during the church’s Community Wellness Day. Participants of the event were able to measure their blood pressure levels, their heart rate, and calculate their body mass index after walking the quarter-mile track.

Onlookers passing by may only see a plot of land, but for Bishop Jason Johnson, it’s a field of dreams coming to fruition. “This is our future family life center where one day we are going to build a gymnasium. I pretty much prayed and asked God, Lord what do you want me to do for the community? Certainly, we are preachers and we’re pastors, we’re sharing a gospel of Jesus Christ but we also understand that God wants us to prosper and be in health.”

Abundant Life Church plans to build an outside basketball court or tennis court on the property and is excited about giving more to his community.
