Absentee voting open for Gulfport’s Ward 5 Special Election

The special election for Ward 5 in Gulfport is coming up fast.

Election day is next Tuesday, February 18th, but voters in the ward have a chance to vote absentee right now.

The candidates on the ballot are BJ Sellers, Don Harden, and Holly Gibbs.

Only registered voters in Ward 5 are eligible to participate.

If you plan on voting in-person on election day, you’ll head to either Fire Station 10 on Dedeaux Road or the Handsboro Community Center on Switzer Road.

Those voting locations will be open from 7 that morning until 7 in the evening.

Currently absentee voting is available at Gulfport City Hall as well, starting today and running until 5.

Voting will also be open tomorrow and Saturday. Absentee voting starts at 8 each morning, with Friday’s ending at 5 and Saturday’s ending at noon.
