Update: Mississippi Power restores customers to power in Gulfport

Mississippi Power has restored its customers with power after an outage early this morning.

About 3,000 Mississippi Power customers were without power in the area east of 25th Avenue in downtown Gulfport. The outage stretched north as far as the Biloxi-Gulfport International Airport and as far east as Hewes Avenue.

The outage happened in the 8 am hour and the outage was fully restored by 10 a.m.

Gulfport Main Street posted on social media that the power outage was the result of a traffic accident in the area.
