AARP Foundation looking for volunteers to help seniors with taxes

AARP is looking for some helping hearts to assist seniors in our area for tax season.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offering free tax assistance to those elderly who need it the most. They are looking for friendly individuals to join for the upcoming tax season.

Those interested will receive training and learn new skills while helping others. AARP is in need of volunteers who can work virtually and in-person. AARP Tax Counselor Vicki Bolden said, “People may not have access to computers to do it on the computer or may not know how to navigate those systems. So, we are very pleased to provide that service to elderly folks and warn them against potential scams that we may be aware of.”

AARP is looking to fill several positions including counselors, client facilitators, technology coordinators, leadership and administrative, communications coordinators, and bilingual speakers.
