A pair of Pearl River County athletes honored at 2025 Mr. Football Luncheon!

We’ve bragged to them, sat down with them, and are currently following their teams’ road to state, but this specific moment is all about them.

The best high school football players in the state were recognized at the Mr. Football awards luncheon and we couldn’t be more proud of two of our own. Poplarville running back Ty Key and Picayune offensive tackle Mitchell Smith were honored with the rest of the 2025 Mr. Football winners at an awards luncheon held at the MHSAA Conference Center. Each recipient received a medal and the classic MHSAA Mr. Football trophy.

Both Keys and Smith discussed what receiving this honor meant to them and gave credit to those who have helped them along the way. You can listen to their answers in the video above!
