A Fatal Accident in Bay St. Louis Sunday Night

The two 20-year-old females involved in a fatal accident in Bay St. Louis Sunday night have been identified as Aja Crawford and Lauren Bailey. The accident happened on Lower Bay near 34th Street around 9:20 p.m.
Bailey lost control of the car while driving west on Lower Bay and steered into the path of a Ford pick-up truck driving eastbound. The driver of the truck tried to avoid a collision but ended up striking the passenger side of Bailey’s car. Bailey and Crawford were both pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck suffered moderate injuries.
Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said, “A lot of times, there’s not any traffic on that road, so you tend to go faster than the 35 to 45 speed limit. Now a days with the added distractions of cell phones, that just leads to making it more dangerous.”
Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the cause of the crash.
