A computer issue is holding up United flights. The airline and FAA don’t know how long it will last

United Airlines flights are being held up by what federal officials are calling an equipment outage.
The Federal Aviation Administration said Tuesday that United crews were unable to contact airline dispatchers through normal means. The FAA says the issue is limited to United and its subsidiaries.
United is not immediately responding to requests for more information, including how long the problem might last.
Shares of the Chicago-based airlines’ parent company are down more than 3% in afternoon trading.
