Racist tweets from former Shuckers player resurface
Former Biloxi Shuckers pitcher and current Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Josh Hader gave up a homerun in the All-Star game Tuesday, but that is now the least of his problems.
A series of troubling tweets from Hader’s account dating back to 2011 resurfaced Tuesday night in which he used racial slurs.
The 24-year-old Hader apologized for the tweets in a post-game interview, saying he was young and they do not reflect who he is today.
Today, the Commissioner’s Office announced Hader will be required to participate in diversity and inclusion initiatives in addition to the sensitivity training.
In a statement, Brewers General Manager David Stearns says the team will continue to work through the issue with Hader.
