Cities and Towns Gear up for Cruisin’ the Coast with Traffic Plans
Meanwhile, cities and towns throughout South Mississippi are making their own traffic plans as thousands of vintage and antique cars, hot rods, and vehicles roll into our area for the 23rd annual Cruisin’ the Coast.
Voted the nation’s top car show in a USA Readers’ Choice poll in 2018, Cruisin’ venues throughout South Mississippi accommodate these vintage car owners and fans in the thousands—and the event just gets bigger every year.
In 1996 the event showcased 374 registered cars. Now, Cruisin’ spans from Pascagoula to Bay St. Louis, and last year more than 8 thousand vehicles were registered in the coast-wide car show.
While Cruisin’ does not officially kick off until this Sunday, local leaders and law enforcement already have their traffic plans in place and are starting to put out barricades, signs, and cones this week.
The event revs up this Sunday and will be in full throttle until October 13th.
During this time, we locals know all too well to allow for extra drive time and delays while traveling around Cruisin’ venues!
