Ole Miss ready for next week
It was a tough weekend for the Ole Miss football team as they suffered a 28 point loss to the number one ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
The 59-31 loss was a particularly tough game for the Ole Miss defense, who gave up almost 600 total yards of offense.
The 59 points were the most given up by the defense since last year when they gave up 62 to Alabama.
In a press conference yesterday, Ole Miss Head Coach Matt Luke explained that he’s viewing last week’s loss as a learning experience more than anything. “Always disappointed when you lose, give Alabama some credit, they’re the number one team in the country for a reason. A lot of things we got to get fixed, 3rd down showed up again, gotta find ways to get off the field on 3rd down, get some more pressure, play the right leverage, get off the field on 3rd down. Again, there were some positives that happened that we want to build on moving forward, and I think that’s the key. Let’s get some things corrected, let’s build on the things that were positive moving forward.”
The Rebels will look to improve to 2-1 in SEC play on Saturday night as they host the Vanderbilt Commodores.
