Manhunt for Richard Merritt ends in Nashville
Last night, convicted felon Richard Merritt was captured. He had been on the run for eight months before his arrest in Nashville.
Tonight, U.S. Marshals are giving us insight into the search for Merritt leading up to his capture.
You may remember when we first brought you this story in March that authorities and Merritt’s family believed in the possibility that the former attorney fled to a foreign country, possibly in the Middle East.
It turns out he was fewer than 300 miles away. Frank Lempka with the U.S. Marshals said, “We know he was at least in Nashville since May, but I believe he was probably there the whole time. He had a fake identity, a new life he was living in a city that he had no ties to whatsoever.”
Tune in tomorrow night for the full story on Richard Merritt’s capture.
