Coast remembers Kipp Greggory

The Coast is in mourning today after the loss of long-time talk show radio host Kipp Greggory.

Greggory was a familiar face and voice here in South Mississippi for many years as talk show host and general manager of Super Talk 103.1

He was a loving husband and father of two women. He was also very active in the community.

Less than a week ago, he was among the men helping to raise money for the American Cancer Society at the launch party for the ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ reveal at the Beau Rivage Casino.

He also started a fundraiser on Facebook to help in the fight against cancer and had plans to attend the ‘Making Strides against Breast Cancer’ Walk in October.

Sources tell us Kipp passed away from a heart attack. Greggory was treated earlier this year for a newly discovered heart defect which prompted him to encourage those around the age of 50 to get an ultrasound of their heart.

News 25 spoke with one of Kipp’s coworkers and friends who says that the talk show radio host touched many lives right here on the Gulf Coast. Telesouth Media Vice President Larry Tate said, “Kipp will be missed greatly, not only by the Telesouth family, but by the people on the Coast. I’ve thought about it the last couple of days and Kipp’s input, his thoughts about things, the way he cared for people and the people around him. I think that will be missed and a lot of people on the Coast didn’t know that about him, but I think that was so unique about Kipp is the way he just had a good way of getting an insight into people in this community.”

A memorial service will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 p.m.
