Bay St. Louis man charged in Waveland commercial burglaries

A Bay St. Louis man has been charged in a pair of commercial burglaries in Waveland.

33-year-old Gabriel Singleton is charged with two counts of commercial burglary. He is being held at the Hancock County jail on $10,000 bond. He also is on a hold without bond for MDOC.

Waveland Police Chief Mike Prendergast said the case began on Sunday when a burglary alarm activated at High Tide Laundromat on Waveland Avenue.

The business owner told officers on the scene that the alarm didn’t sound right. A check of the system showed it had been tampered with.

Officers learned from witness statements that an unknown man was behind the building about 20 minutes before officers arrived.

On Monday, a neighboring business reported that someone had been in their building and the power breaker had been tripped.

Investigators, using video from the laundromat, identified Singleton, who was arrested that day.
