Four suspects charged with armed robbery in Jackson County

Four suspects, including a 16-year-old, are in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, charged with armed robbery.

Around 9:30 Monday night, August 22nd, deputies responded to a shots fired call in the parking lot of the Motel 6 near Ocean Springs exit 50.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says several people reported they were robbed at gunpoint and the suspects drove off. A little while later, Ocean Springs police found with all four suspects inside.

Investigators recovered the items stolen from the victims. They also found four handguns, two assault rifles, 80 grams of cocaine, and more than $500. The South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team, MET, will handle the drug investigation.

The following are charged with six counts each of armed robbery:

  • Jeremy Jordan, 21, Hattiesburg, also charged with possession of a weapon by convicted felon. He was on parole for a previous shooting in Hattiesburg.
  • Brandon Ruffin, 19, Hattiesburg
  • Tayln Geis, 21, Vancleave
  • Jashawn Mobley, 16, Hattiesburg, charged as an adult, was out on bond for being an accessory to a murder in Hattiesburg

All four suspects are jailed with no bond, pending initial hearings.
