Ole Miss running new offense and defense in 2019
The Ole Miss Rebels are still in the exploratory phase of finding out what they have prior to the 2019 season.
Finally back at full capacity with 85 scholarship players for the first time since 2014, Ole Miss has 31 new signees to go along with a brand new offense and defense.
Offensive Coordinator Rich Rodriguez and Defensive Coordinator Mike McIntyre should have plenty of talent to work with. Head Coach Matt Luke says he’s been able to see it on the practice field all off-season.
“I think anytime you have a lot of new players, you find out a lot in the first game. I do think we’ve had a really, really good camp. We’ve had several good scrimmages of good on good and that’s probably your biggest indicator is when you’re out there live in the stadium is how are they doing when the coaches are off the field and they’re in the box? And I thought the competition has been good. The understanding has looked good.”
The Ole Miss Rebels will get the party started at 11 a.m. Saturday with a road game against the Memphis Tigers.
