Belk Charity Day update

Shoppers at one business in Gulfport had the opportunity to help local schools on Saturday.

Belk in Gulfport held its Charity Day Sale to benefit schools in the Harrison County School District. Shoppers who purchased tickets had the chance to take advantage of discounted prices on most items in the store and all proceeds from ticket sales go to help the students and educators in the district.

Store Manager Bill Ballard talked about the importance of supporting community schools. “The Harrison County School District is one we can really get behind and support. There’s such a need to help our educators to bring our children up.”

The store raised around $6,000 for the school district during the event.
