Basketball camp hosted by a star

It’s not an everyday thing being trained by a group of basketball stars!

Beverly Coleman is hosting her basketball skills camp at the Salvation Army Kroc Center.

At the camp, there were at least 52 kids ranging from ages 5 to 10 who were eager to learn more about the game of basketball.

The campers learned skills and basic fundamentals for both offense and defense.

Dribbling, shooting, passing, you name it!

Now, these kids are ready to take the court.

“We’re here today to give back to the community, I’ve asked all the coaches, sponsors, and volunteers to show their spirit by wearing spirit shirts, college shirts, army shirts, whatever type of shirt they had,” Coleman said. “Playing basketball at Harrison Central, we were always that basketball team back when they were legends in basketball, and it was awesome to give back to a community that wanted to come in and learn some new skills.”

The event will continue tomorrow and all the kids will show up wearing their new camp shirt.
