Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosts Breakfast with the Mayor
Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich spoke with businesses and Biloxi residents about a wide range of topics this morning at the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast with the Mayor.
Gilich updated citizens on the city’s government, infrastructure, and tourism. He talked about the opening of the new main gate at Keesler Air Force Base, the construction going on at Margaritaville in anticipation of their new amusement park, Paradise Pier Fun Park, and the Sanger Theatre construction project.
Awards and grants were also given out.
The chamber unveiled the poster for the 41st annual Biloxi Seafood Festival illustrated by Lyndsey Lamas Miller. Miller said, “I’m very honored. This means a lot to me. Biloxi means a lot to me as being my home where I grew up. So, yeah, the boat in the piece is actually a replica or meant to replicate what my grandfather’s son-in-law, my great uncle, so to speak, his shrimp boat, the green wave, the wheel on the piece is meant to represent my great-grandfather’s wheel on his schooner.”
The 41st Biloxi Seafood Festival is scheduled for September 10th and 11th at the Biloxi Town Green.
