Shepard of the Gulf hosted Cookout for Campers
Shepard of the Gulf hosted a ‘cookout for campers’ event Monday in Gulfport to help those less fortunate enjoy a nice meal.
The organization served grilled hamburgers, chips, baked beans, watermelon, and cold bottled water. They also handed out goody bags with personal hygiene items and other self-care essentials.
Shepard of the Gulf is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and assistance to homeless campers along the Mississippi Gulf Coast staffed by volunteers.
John Smith donated over 192 burger patties and First Missionary Baptist Church donated watermelons. Shepard of the Gulf Executive Director Lynda Favre said, “I wanted to reach out in this particular location to let them know who I am, what we do, and how we can help them and that way, hopefully, you never know, you can change a life.”
Shepard of the Gulf is always looking for volunteers and donations. For more information visit shepardofthegulf.org.
