Southern Miss All-American pitcher Hurston Waldrep to enter transfer portal
Southern Miss baseball is less than three weeks removed from hosting a Super Regional for the first time in program history thanks in large part to the nation’s second-best pitching staff in terms of ERA, whip, and strikeout-to-walk ratio.
As first reported by AYS Sports, co-ace of the staff Hurston Waldrep has thrown his last pitch as a Golden Eagle, having entered the transfer portal prior to his junior season.
This season, Waldrep burst onto the scene with 140 strikeouts across 90 innings pitched to go along with a record of 6-2 and a 3.20 ERA.
He had double digit strikeouts in nine of his 17 starts and only allowed more than three earned runs in a game just three times.
Waldrep was recently tabbed a Third Team All-American by D1Baseball.com and is currently training with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team alongside former teammate Tanner Hall.
