Memorial Day adoption specials at Humane Society of South Mississippi

As we go into the Memorial Day Weekend, the Humane Society of South Mississippi is showing their appreciation for our local heroes.

From now through Saturday, adoption fees for all animals are waived for all military, first responders, and their spouses. HSSM says they wanted to run this special to honor our dedicated service men and women. They are also holding a new 15 percent discount for military at their wellness clinic.

They hope this weekend helps get some of their animals to a loving home. Right now they are over capacity.  Valerie Kattz with the Humane Society of South Mississippi said, “If you do come in looking for a pet now is a great time because we are over capacity. Capacity here at the shelter is 289 and we are at about 377 right now. We had 143 animals brought in last week. There are lots to choose from. So, we are just asking you to be a hero for our pets in need.”

They ask you to please remember to bring your I.D. if you plan to take advantage of this special event.
