Wear Blue: Run to Remember
This morning about 50 people laced up their running shoes, put on blue shirts and hit the beach in Biloxi to run or walk two miles during the annual ‘Wear Blue: Run to Remember.”
Each year before Memorial Day officials from Keesler Family House put on the event to honor the service and sacrifice of military members.
Each person taking part ran in honor of someone they know who lost their lives while serving our country and before the run, the group stood in a circle and said aloud the name of the fallen service member.
Both Michelle Thames’ sons are currently serving in the army and her husband is Navy retired so she took part in the walk this morning to honor all the people who have paid the ultimate price. “For our fallen soldiers who serve so well for our country and that was killed in action. I have seen and heard so many stories. I actually have a friend that is a commander in the Navy and he was telling me about an experience where he had to go to a door and deliver the bad news to a family and it was just heartbreaking.”
