One dead, three injured in car accident in George County
A female is dead and three others are critically injured as a result of a car crash in George County on Friday night.
Shortly after 9:15 p.m., a car driven by 88-year-old Betty Jean Chestnut of Mobile, Alabama was traveling west in the eastbound lane of Highway 98.
Her vehicle crashed head-on with an eastbound Honda, driven by a male of Lucedale, MS. Chestnut was not restrained and was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Honda and the driver’s side rear passenger were transported by ambulance to the University of South Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The front passenger was transported by Life Flight to University of South Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
