Court appearances for suspects in murder case

Darian Atkinson now has an attorney this morning after three court appearances since Wednesday.

He is charged with capital murder for the death of Officer Robert McKeithen and could face the death penalty if convicted.

Two others charged with accessory after the fact in the murder are 21-year-old Joshua Kovach and 20-year-old Dalentez Brice. They’re accused of helping the shooting suspect change clothes to help hide his identity after the shooting, according tour media partner The Sun Herald.

Both had their initial court appearances this morning and were held on $500,000 bonds. However, Brice’s bond was revoked for previous charges against him of statutory rape.

Kovach and Davian, the accused shooter’s brother, are the only two out of the five arrests made eligible to get out of jail.
