Conference USA Tournament to return to Biloxi in 2020

Conference USA and Overtime Sports have their sights set on this year’s baseball tournament in Biloxi and beyond.

The Conference USA Championship Tournament announced today that they will be returning to MGM Park for the 2020 season. After a terrific 2017 tournament, last year’s tournament was damped by bad weather.

While officials are confident it will bounce back this year, the tournament’s future in Biloxi past the year 2020 has yet to be decided.

Tim Bennett with Overtime Sports tells News 25 that the tournament is a positive for not only Biloxi, but the Gulf Coast as a whole. “At the end of the day, the event is well worth it with the economic impact that it brings. Those kids are coming, those coaches are coming. Rain or shine, they’re going to be here and that means dollars are being spent on the Coast and that means impact. It justifies the construction of MGM Park at the end of the day.”

Southern Miss won last year’s tournament. Golden Eagles are currently in line to be the top seed again this year.
