South Mississippi Celebrates National Day of Prayer

Over at Biloxi City Hall, there was a National Day of Prayer celebration.

People filled the inside of the Biloxi’s Council Chambers from many different denominations and backgrounds to hold hands and pray.

The city has celebrated National Day of Prayer at City Hall since 1994, it was originated by Carleen Hall. Hall died two years ago, but her legacy carries on as volunteers stepped up to make sure National Day of Prayer continues. Organizer Patrice Torricelli said, “I leave with that fullness feeling that God has filled up his people to send us forward and tell others about Jesus.”

Organizer Robin Killeen said, “I leave with a permanent smile on my face.”

Other National Day of Prayer ceremonies were held by the Gautier Church of God, City of Long Beach, City of Gulfport and in Jackson County at the courthouse.
