D’Iberville City Auction
The City of D’Iberville held their city auction over the weekend.
Old police cars, dump trucks, and more were all available for purchase on Saturday at the city’s auction.
After a city gets use out of certain items, they store them away, never to be used again. Instead of the city just getting rid of the items, they put them up for auction and all the money is returned back into the city.
Nick Clark with Clark Auction Group tells News 25 that this is one of the more popular ways that cities can raise money. “These items are deadlined. They’re not bringing in any money. It’s costing the city money to store them, repair them, and do things so they choose to sell them, take that money and put it in the general fund and pay salaries, pay bills.”
Up next for the Clark Auction Group is the Long Beach auction which will be taking place this June.
