Fatal accident in Hancock County

Two people are dead following an early morning car accident in Hancock County.

The accident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Interstate 10 near mile marker 7 close to the Louisiana state line.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a 2011 Honda Civic was traveling west on the interstate when the driver lost control of the car, sending the car over the left side of the road and crashed into a tree.

Both women in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
