39th annual Gulf Coast Orchid Show
The 39th annual Gulf Coast Orchid Show and Sale had a successful weekend.
The Gautier Convention Center was flooded over the weekend with visitors buying and looking at a variety of orchid species.
On Saturday, orchid societies from different cities were judged on their own plants, with winners assigned.
The weekend wrapped up Sunday with an orchid-care class, teaching the correct way to take care of orchids.
Marilyn Ladnier tells News 25 that she’s happy to see all of the Orchid Society’s hard work pay off. “We’ve got a really good group. We usually have about 35 show up to our meetings. Whatever we need, the group really comes in and steps up and works hard.”
Ladnier says that the Orchid Society has already started its preparations for next year’s show.
