Prayers for Patton

A Sunday afternoon turned tragic for one Harrison County family.

Twelve-year-old Patton Tillman was riding his side by side cart on his family’s land in Harrison County yesterday when he crashed and landed with the vehicle on top of him.

The family is not certain what caused the accident, but once they came outside after a friend of Patton’s saw what happened they knew something was terribly wrong. Patton was airlifted to a Mobile hospital shortly after the accident with life threatening injuries.

It has been a whirlwind of a 24 hours for them, but the family is remaining hopeful. They believe Patton is strong and will overcome his current critical condition.

They have been leaving the whole situation up to God by having constant prayer. Patton’s aunt, Ravin Beard, said, “Patton is recovering in an exponential rate, like more than we could have ever imagined. We’re really going to say that that is just because of prayer and support and everybody just lifting up the family and keeping us in high spirit and keeping us motivated. He can feel off that energy. We’re just so thankful and hopeful that this is going to be okay.”

Patton’s grandfather, Lucas Tillman, said, “It has just been a miracle with what’s happened. So far, in less than 24 hours, the leaps and bounds that he’s made in recovery. It’s a God thing. You know, there’s no doubt in my mind that you know that God’s hands are already in this from all the recovery that is going on right now in Patton’s life.”

There will be a prayer vigil for Patton in the morning at Woolmarket Community Center at 6:40 a.m. The family has also set up a GoFundMe to help with medical bills. You can find that GoFundMe page here.
