61st annual Miss Camellia Pageant
Girls throughout the area are preparing to hit the stage as the 61st annual Miss Camellia Pageant and second annual Miss Gulf Coast Pageant ramps up.
The pageant is hosted by the Biloxi Lions Club to raise funds for its many site conservation projects. Ladies will compete in a variety of categories including interviews that count 50 percent and stage questions and evening wear that also count for 50 percent of the total scores.
The winners will receive a thousand dollar scholarship to go toward a university of their choice. Pageant Director Jaye Brice said, “I see how much fun the girls are having. I see what confidence it instills in them.”
Miss Camellia 2018 Mahkayla Young said, “It’s just such a great opportunity to be able to represent the Biloxi Lions Club and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
News 25’s Victoria Bailey will be judging the pageant.
