One woman dead after fatal crash in George County

One woman is dead after a fatal crash in George County yesterday.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated the crash around 2:40 p.m. on Highway 612 near Red Creek Church Road in George County, claiming the life of 40-year-old Lisa B. Vess.

Officials say upon arrival, it appeared a 2012 Nissan Altima, driven by Vess, was traveling east on Highway 612 when she went off the right side of the road, crashed into a culvert, overturned, ejecting the driver. Vess was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
