Ms. Wheelchair Mississippi donations
In 2016, at just 15-years-old, Emily Oliver was involved in a car crash in Saucier that broke her femur, pelvis, and neck. Fast forward three years and life looks a lot different for the 18-year-old.
Although Emily is a paraplegic and is wheelchair bound, she is not letting that keep her down. Emily is looking to become the next Ms. Wheelchair Mississippi.
However, Emily cannot achieve this goal without help. Those who love Emily are asking the community to come together to help her reach this goal. She will need to raise $850 to be able to attend the state pageant.
Jourdan Hartshorn has known Emily since the accident. He is asking for donations as well as business sponsors. “It’s not about beauty. It’s about a platform, about a spokesperson for people that are in wheelchairs, especially women and young women. It’s to empower them, to advocate, to communicate about what they do as independent people. I believe that we can send her off. I need ya’ll’s help. I need the business people, community leaders, to step up and let’s get her to the state.”
