Second annual Free Fun Fly

Coast residents got the chance to fly some kites on the beach over the weekend.

The conditions were perfect for the second annual ‘Free Fun Fly’ in Long Beach hosted by Cool Kites. The free event allowed people to fly their kites on the beach.

Workers from Cool Kites were also on hand to help assist people on how to properly fly kites.

Cool Kites owner Chris Barker tells News 25 that he’s more than impressed with the amount of people that showed up for the event. “So, we tell everybody that ‘hey, we’re to fly down at the beach and all of our friends show up and join us.’ We got people here from Florida, Louisiana, people that show up from Tennessee.”

Barker says to look out for more events in the spring such as a ‘build your own kite’ workshop.
