Southern Miss outfielder Matt Wallner named First-Team All-American

Coming out of high school, Southern Miss slugger Matt Wallner was drafted in the 32^nd round of the MLB Draft.

Coming into his junior year, he’s ranked as the 26^th best prospect according to MLB Pipeline and the accolades just keep on rolling in.

Today, Perfect Game named Wallner as First-Team outfielder on their preseason All-American squad.

The 2017 National Freshman of the Year received his first preseason All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball in December.

Wallner played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team last summer, also hitting four home runs during his summer ball stint in the Cape Cod League.
