Celebrating Jackie Robinson

The Biloxi NAACP Baseball Diversity Committee has partnered with the Shuckers and tonight they celebrated the 68th anniversary of the first black man to break into the major leagues.
The event took place from 5:30 to 6:45 at Demiller Hall in Biloxi.
Gordon Jackson, Chair of the Baseball Diversity Committee spoke in remembrance of Jackie Robinson and how he conquered liberty in the face of injustice. Shuckers General manager Buck Rogers was honored to attend.
Gordon Jackson also presented a Spirit of Jackie Robinson Award to Shucker co-owner Tim Bennett.
