D’Iberville’s Louis Paul Smith signs with Southern Miss
D’Iberville center Louis Paul Smith signed his national letter of intent this afternoon, alongside two of his fellow offensive lineman.
The three-star recruit committed to Southern Miss back in April and never wavered in that decision despite offers from four other division I FBS programs.
At the end of the day, Smith says it’s all about family, both in Hattiesburg and at home. “Really, it’s special because I know that my mom, she really raised me right and I know she’s very proud of me. And she just raised me right and it’s just very exciting for her because she knows that I’ve made it, and that’s what’s really exciting for me. Now it’s official. I’m a Southern Miss athlete, and it’s just very exciting.”
Smith says it was the best experience of his life, getting to play football with four of his best friends, those being the other o-linemen.
On that note, the other two Warriors signing this afternoon are both staying in the Magnolia State as well. Ridge Murphy is heading up to Millsaps while Quincy Brown is going off to Pearl River Community College.
