Romance at the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival
If you are thinking about getting engaged this holiday season, we know the perfect spot to pop the question at.
In the past four years over 40 couples have gotten engaged at the Harbor Lights Winter Festival. This weekend, this festival saw five engagements.
The Christmas display draws couples from all over to ask that one very important question.
The festival, which was featured in the Lifetime movie ‘Christmas in Mississippi,’ makes real life couples dreams come true. City of Gulfport Public Information Officer Chris Vignes said, “The word is out there. People are seeing it on television and in these articles and in the press and that is telling them that there is something special happening in Gulfport. We are getting phone calls like ‘is this a real place?’ ‘is this really like that?’ It’s been great. We are seeing guests as far away as Texas and Tennessee and even further coming in to see what they have seen online and then on Lifetime. So, it’s really special.”
To see the movie ‘Christmas in Mississippi,’ which has inspired real life fairy-tales, you can tune into Lifetime on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m.
