Locals Appreciation Night at Harbor Lights Winter Festival

There are only 17 days left for you and your family to stop by Jones Park and enjoy the Harbor Lights Winter Festival.

Jase Payne, one of the event organizers, tells News 25 this year they have had people come from as far as Texas to get a glimpse of the twinkling lights.

If you are a Mississippi local, tonight is the perfect time to stop by because tonight is Locals Appreciation Night which means with a Mississippi ID admission is only $5.

Locals Appreciation Night gets underway at 5:30 and in addition to the spectacular lights, the Big Fun Brass Band out of New Orleans will be filling the air with Christmas tunes. “It’s just another opportunity for locals to come out and enjoy the festival.  A lot of locals drive by and see it on 90, but you got to get in the park and see what we have done this year. It is bigger and better than ever. We have over 300,000 lights this year, Santa’s Village is brand new, and the tunnel of lights that the new train goes through. It’s an opportunity for locals to come out and have a family night,” said Payne.

As always, kids ages five to 12 are $5 and kids under five are free.
