Bayview Boardwalk nearly finished in Biloxi

The long-awaited Bayview Boardwalk in Biloxi nears its completion date and if you didn’t know, the boardwalk is already open to the public.

Construction started on the $2 million project, paid for with GOMESA Funds, in January of last year.

The walkway stretches from Forrest Avenue to Kensington Drive offering a third of a mile for pedestrians to stroll or run on.

Pavilions, trash cans, and benches have all been set up, and except a few adjustments, construction is all but finished. City of Biloxi Public Affairs Specialist Cecilia Dobbs Walton said, “You know, getting out and about makes quality of life better and enjoying what Biloxi has to offer is great for anyone to do. So, having access to walk along the boardwalk, to walk along the waterfront, is great. It has a pavilion where people can gather and enjoy the area. Of course, it being lit at night makes it safe for people to enjoy and walk along in the evening.”

The official completion date is set for April 30th.
