Asgard Motorcycle Club Toy Run
If you were driving around the Gulf Coast yesterday you might have seen a few hundred motorcycles.
Hundreds of bikers revved up their engines for a good cause. Asgard Buff with the Asgard Motorcycle Club said, “Today, we are doing our 34th annual toy run on the Gulf Coast.”
The toy run raises money and gives presents to kids in need during the Holiday season. Sunday Riders leader Bill Armburst said, “Well, I think it’s important because the money goes to the kids and the toys for kids who don’t have anything. It’s a nice charity.”
It may seem like a strange combination, leather and stuffed toys, but these motorcycle enthusiasts say bikes and giving back go hand-in-hand. “Everyone is tough, but give me the toughest person, male or female, and give me a kid in need and I’ll show you someone who has a real weak heart,” said Asgard Buff.
Since this event draws such a huge crowd, many people use it as a way to reconnect while giving back. “It’s a nice ride for a lot of people and you get to see a lot of people you haven’t seen in years,” said Armburst.
