Breakfast with state legislators in Pass Christian

This morning at the Pass Christian Yacht Club, Mississippi Senator Philip Moran and Representative Richard Bennett spoke to a group of residents about a number of things going on in Mississippi politics.

During the event, Senator Moran said the 2018 special session was without question one of the most beneficial special sessions ever recorded in Mississippi history. Legislators dealt with things like BP settlement funds, a state lottery, and Mississippi infrastructure.

Senator Moran tells News 25 as they head into the 2019 legislative session, school safety and a teacher pay raise will be the two big topics.

The last major teacher pay raise in Mississippi took place in 2014.
