Backpack Buddies Fundraiser
Yesterday, The Backpack Buddies Program of Pascagoula and Gautier held a BBQ fundraiser.
The organization sold BBQ plates in order to raise money to purchase the food they give to children.
School officials come to the organization with a list of students who do not get proper nutrition when they’re at home.
Backpack Buddies provides canned and boxed food for them to take home so they have something to eat over the weekend and during holiday breaks.
Backpack Buddies of Pascagoula and Gautier feed about 300 students.
Yesterday, they sold over 1,500 plates at 8 dollars each. All proceeds at going to pay for the food.
